Copper MIG WireThere are a number of different copper and copper alloys, which are weldable by the MIG process. However, not all of these alloys have matching MIG wires available, it is therefore important to take care when choosing a wire. The most common types of wire are pure copper, aluminium bronze, copper-silicon and copper-phosphorous. Within these types there are often several grades available. As one of the major application for copper alloys is in architectural work and decoration colour match of filler material is often more important than mechanical properties. Choosing a matching filler will not necessarily produce a weld which is exactly the same colour as the parent material. It is often necessary to complete test samples with a range of filler wires to get the correct colour match. |
